It is IE 6 (I think) and I am running Windows XP.
I have clicked ';CLEAR HISTORY'; under TOOLS and INTERNET OPTIONS but while most of the pages are gone, one or two still appear as suggestions when I type in the first few letters of another website that shares the same first few as the one that I cleared.
I have also done ';CLEAR FORMS'; under ';AUTOCOMPLETE'; but to no avail.
Any ideas??How do I FULLY clear the list of viewed webpages on Internet Explorer?
Download CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware. How do I FULLY clear the list of viewed webpages on Internet Explorer?
Minimize Internet Explorer. Then, on your desktop, right click the icon for Internet Explorer, and go down to properties.Once Internet Properties shows up, you will see an area called 'Browsing history'. Click the Delete... button. A new window, Delete Browsing History, will come up. Go to the bottom and click Delete all..., and let it go through its process. That should fix your problem.
if its just the odd few that are still popping up then just go to the search bars that havent been cleared properly, double click in the box, this will come up with all your recent searches, and then all u need to do is highlight one at a time, the ones u want to get rid of, and then click delete (not backspace) and thats it, gone forever!!
I suggest you use a programme like CCLEANER - it does an excellent job, and you can choose the categories it checks, and review it's findings before anything is removed
Click on Tools
Click on Delete Browsing History
