What ever you do do not delete all your cookies I did, like you I believed that it would speed things up but it did the opposite I found trying to get my programs to work was an effort even yahoo mail wouldn't work I had to sign up again, you can choose the ones you do not require.
it's your music collection, pictures and video files that slow it down. Do a 'search on your computer for ';mp3'; and see if you have repeat files. do the same for 'wmv' 'mpg' jpg' etc. internet history or whatever isn't slowing you down..
go to tools, internet options, delete and then u can either select delete all or just select to delete internet history and cookies. the other options to delete are history in search engines and passwords that u have put in.
Click on Tools then Internet Options .The on Delete, then it will pull up options of what you want to delete, and click history and cookies and then ok.


But I don't think it slows a PC down

If you are using internet explorer it is very simple.


Click on Tools.


Then Internet Options.


From here you can delete Cookies and clear your history.
