as in, if i went to tools%26gt;internet options%26gt;general%26gt;history%26gt;clear history and clicked it [which i know would clear my internet history like what sites i went to...] would less pop ups come? either way, what benefits will it have for my computer, and what negetive aspects would it have?If i clear my internet history, will that prevent pop up ads from coming?
No it wouldn't.
Would I be wrong to assume that you use Internet Explorer?
If I'm correct, your main issue is just that. Firefox will fix most if not all of your problems with pop ups.If i clear my internet history, will that prevent pop up ads from coming?
Popups come from adware that went onto your computer. Clearing the itnernet history will only erase WHERE you've been. You have to delete the ';cookies'; or temporary internet files. Then buy, install and USE an internet security program. Firefox is good (I use IE) but it does not protect you from everything. I faithfully use an internet security program and my popups aren't virtually nonexistant. In the meantime, you can reduce the number of popups you get by turning on your browser's built in pop up blocker and increasing your browser's security settings. But the price you pay, is that you will be limited to where you go on the web.
The benefits of clearing out your internet history is that others won't know where you have surfed. However, you also need to clean out your cookie file.
If you want to get rid of the pop-ups then you need to download a pop-up blocker. It is also a good idea to get a spybot preventative. I got Spybot-Search and Destroy for free. That will scan your system to prevent you from getting the spyware, viruses, and trojans on your computer. The first time I ran a scan I had over 2,000 problems!
No, pop ups will still occur.
positive and negative: less suggestions for what site you want to go to
positive: less likely someone discovering which site you've been to
negative: if you find a site you like, but forgot to bookmark it, you've lost it
I'm not sure if it makes your computer/browser run faster, but it couldn't hurt
I'd advise to get rid of your cookies regularly, and if you have undesireables on your comp, your saved passwords also
ETA: to avoid pop-ups, you can always use firefox w/ adblock plus add-on (and no script to be extra safe)
Nope. You need some antivirus/antispyware software for stuff like that. And deleting your internet history really doesn't have any ups or downs, it just deletes where you've been.
no. its good to clean it out every now and then though.
but to prevent popups get a popup blocker. firefox has a good adblocker in its ad-ons.
Go to http://www.popup-remover.com
I use that program. It works very well.
Block pop-up ads and remove spyware .
nope. pop ups are an indication that you have a virus or spyware problem. Get off those dirty sites and your antivirus/ antispyware programs.
NO. Download and run spyware removal tool from http://www.spywaregeeks.com/ to check your computer for spyware and adware.
the pop ads maybe a spyware or adware.Even if you clear history it might be still there
What u need is a good anti-spyware
no, cuz that is control by the site not by cookies
u should get some pop-up blocker
taa-dah
I don't think so.
