How do you see someone's search history on the internet and then clear it?

How do I delete the drop-down list of my past searches?

You can clear your Google search history from the Google search box, the Google Toolbar, or your browser. We've included instructions for all three methods below.

CLEARING YOUR GOOGLE SEARCH BOX HISTORY

The search history that displays in the search box on the Google homepage is stored by your browser, not by Google. Instructions appear below for disabling this search history in common browsers. If your browser isn't listed, we suggest consulting its online support center.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

1. Go to the ';Tools'; menu.

2. Select ';Internet Options'; and the ';Content'; tab.

3. Within the ';Personal information'; area, select ';AutoComplete.';

4. Click on ';Clear Forms.'; You can also un-check the ';Forms'; box in this window to keep this information from being stored in the future.

5. Click ';OK'; to exit.

Alternatively, you can delete individual entries from your search history by using the Down arrow key to highlight a previous search, then pressing the Delete key once.

MSN

If you're using the Microsoft Network (MSN), changes made in Internet Explorer (IE) will take effect in your MSN browser. After making changes in IE, you'll need to sign out of and back into MSN for the changes to take effect.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Go to the ';Tools'; menu.

2. Select ';Options'; %26gt; ';Privacy'; %26gt; ';Saved Form Information.';

3. Click ';Clear'; and un-check the box.

4. Click ';OK'; to exit.

Safari

1. Go to the ';Safari'; menu and select ';Preferences.';

2. From the menus that pop up, select ';Autofill.';

3. Go to ';Other forms'; line and select the ';Edit'; button.

4. From the list of sites for which AutoFill is currently being applied, select ';Google.com'; %26gt; ';Remove'; %26gt; ';Done.';

CLEARING YOUR GOOGLE TOOLBAR HISTORY

To clear your search history from the drop-down text box on the Google Toolbar:

1. Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.

2. Select the ';Clear Search History'; option.

If you'd like to completely disable your Toolbar's search history, please click the ';Options'; button on your Toolbar and un-check the box next to ';Drop-down search history.';

If you have Google Toolbar 4.0 installed, you can clear your Toolbar's search history by starting to enter a search term in your Toolbar's search box. When your drop-down search history appears, simply click the ';Clear History'; link.

Please note that this only clears the search history from the Google Toolbar, which is entirely separate from the search history stored by your browser.

If you've followed these steps and information still appears in your Toolbar search box as you type, please visit http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer鈥?/a> for additional assistance.

CLEARING YOUR BROWSER HISTORY

Like your Google search box history, the search history that displays in the address bar on the Google homepage is stored by your browser, not by Google. Instructions appear below for clearing and/or disabling your search history in common browsers. If your browser isn't listed, we suggest consulting its online support center.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

1. Go to the ';Tools'; menu.

2. Select ';Internet Options'; and the ';General'; tab.

3. Click the ';Clear History'; button. To completely disable the history function, set ';Days to keep pages in history'; to zero (';0';).

4. Click ';OK'; to exit.

2. Select ';Options'; %26gt; ';Privacy'; %26gt; ';History.';

3. Click on ';Clear.'; To completely disable the history function, set ';Remember visited pages for the last X days'; to zero (';0';).

4. Click ';OK'; to exit.

Safari

1. Click ';History'; on the top menu.

2. Click ';Clear History'; at the bottom of the menu.How do you see someone's search history on the internet and then clear it?

Why isn't a video's picture clear enough when you watch it on the internet?

But when you see it in the theater or on TV or on DVD, the picture is great? Or will that change too?Why isn't a video's picture clear enough when you watch it on the internet?
Because the resolution of the video on the internet has been reduced to make the file size smaller. There are some video's that are very high resolution, but the file size is so big that unless you have a high speed broadband connection they wouldn't play well or it would take hours to download...Why isn't a video's picture clear enough when you watch it on the internet?
Well Jb the video on the net has less quality and is no that great,what your referring to is that when you watch a video on Tv it has more quality right,its a case of formats and you can only watch good quality videos on net if its resolution or quality is of high quality.

The better the video looks the more space it has and more time to download/upload.
update your video card

to find out what you have

go to your start menu and type device manager

then find where it says display adapters and then go to the manufacturer of your pc and then save it to your desktop and then update
Watching video on the internet involves large amount of data being transferred. In an internet connection such large amounts of data can't be transferred so fast and so the video is not clear
Your Internet connection speed if slow will do this because of the down load time. Some video's are not made as well as commercial ones used for general public viewing. Do you have dial up or DSL, cable satellite connection.

Hope this helps
Hey,

YouTube videos are converted to FLV videos, which has the less quality, for example a video is in MPEG4 format, YouTube now converts it to FLV videos.. which gives the video less quality

    Yes, if you are on a server...because it registers every keystroke...even if you erase what you did...there is a history of it...

    So...do not take care of personal business at work, such as write email to your friends about the great interview for a new job you had on your lunch hour, or what a jerk your boss, etc...because it will come back to haunt you...

    Also, the hard drive registers everything...forensic computer specialists can even (usually) take smashed, burned stomped-upon computers and bring back words that were never meant to see the light of day again...

    You are so busted!If I clear my cookies, cache and history on my work com can my boss still tell where I've been on the internet?
    you can do all that but if he installed a keylogger and other spy program,which most employers are doing now,then you're just wasting your time as he already knows,when he goes back and looks at the data from your pc
    Yes, he can. It's all in the hard drive somewhere. It never goes away. That's how they found all the information that Casey Anthony had researched about chloroform.
    well. yes. usually a company computer takes stills of every website visited even if all files are cleared.
    Why don't you do the Internet on your own time. Sorry to sound like an old curmudgeon.

    Good luck

    Umm.. mine not be the same as yours but they disapear after you type in alot of links.
    I recommend using (free) crap-cleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/

    Once downloaded and installed, before running for the first time, back up any important files and set a restore point. I run ccleaner at least once a week - it clears out a lot of junk, temp files, history, cookies, etc. It also clears your passwords, so make certain you will be able to remember them.
    Try to right click on history or the stuff you have been on and delete it

    Dolby is correct, but those history items are STILL on your hard drive. If you have anything on there that is illegal and your computer is confiscated, there is a way they can read you hardrive. Nothing goes away until you overwrite it many times and still they have ways of finding things.

    A more secure way is to overwrite the files immediately with a program such as Window Washer or CCleaner which allows you to set the number of times you want each file overwritten. Some say 3 times is enough others say to go to the max and set it for 36 times. This means each file you have deleted from your temporary internet file cache is overwritten 36 times as well as your cookies that were stored.

    I use Internet Explorer%26gt;Tools%26gt;Internet Options%26gt;General to ';Clear History'; but Google Desktop search indicates thousands of Internet visitations and this must be slowing my laptop. I would like to eliminate them from my memory. I would prefer not having to purchase a commercial Cleanser Program. Try this:

    Accessories%26gt;System Tools%26gt;Disk Cleanup.

    Then choose your hard drive disk that you use the most (usually [C:]), click OK, it should load the files for cleanup...

    A list should show up. (Temporary Internet Files, Offline web Pages, Recycle Bin, etc).

    Check the box for Temporary Internet Files, click OK, and confirm by pressing Yes when the box pops up.

    (Also: If you would like to individually delete the actual cookies, after checking the box, near the bottom you will see a button that says View Files. Click that and a window will pop up showing you all the cookies that are stored on your computer. Just highlight and delete the cookies you want. Remember: cookies are there to help your computer run quicker but some are unnecessary over a long period of time).

    There is a history log, temp files, cookies and hidden temp files as well as things installed that you might not be aware of. If you are concerned only about the casual family intruder, Clear the cookies, temp files and history in IE and if you do use some search engines, find out what cache they are using and clear that also. This may not protect you from being exposed through adware or some other malware. They can ';pop up'; on you for some rather awkward moments.
    You need to clean out your temporary files %26gt; cookies. THis is under Explorer

    Here's the correct download url for CCleaner, its free and the best program of its type. Also, Ewido anti trojan has some privacy tools.

    Always go to the original website.
    I agree with Hydrasire that these are solutions, though only partial ones. To really get rid of that deitrus, rebbot your computer. When the manufacturer screen comes up (Compaq, HP, Dell, etc), hit F8 repeatedly. You'll see a screen with lots of options on it. Select BOOT INTO SAFEMODE. After the computer boots into SAFEMODE, do a search for all .DAT files. Delete all that are found, and reboot normally.

    Index.dat are the files that store that extra internet history info.
    sounds like you are doing something shady....
    reboot your pc

    Hi,

    I have had Internet Explorer version 7 since it came out %26amp; it's just the same way as you would with the older versions ~ they have made a little bit more options than the older version which is good.

    Follow these instructions %26amp; you'll be good to go:

    1. Click on Internet Explorer

    2. Click on Tools

    3. Click on Internet Options which a box will pop up

    4. You will be on the ';General'; tab ~ STAY on that tab

    5. Under ';Browsing History'; section in the ';General'; tab, you will see two buttons to click on which will be ';Delete'; %26amp; ';Settings'; ~ Click on ';Delete'; which another box will pop up

    6. It will look similar to the ';General'; tab with different sections ~ under ';Temporary Internet Files'; ~ click on ';Delete'; ~ a box will pop up asking if you are sure ~ click ';Yes';

    7. Under ';Cookies'; section ~ click on ';Delete'; ~ a box will pop up asking if you are sure ~ click ';Yes';

    8. Under ';History'; section ~ click on ';Delete'; ~ a box will pop up asking if you are sure ~ click ';Yes';

    9. I would personally (in my opinion) leave alone the ';Form Data'; %26amp; ';Passwords'; sections in there

    10. After you have completed all steps prior to this one ~ click on ';Close';

    11. That box will disappear ~ you will still have the ';Internet Options'; box open ~ you can click on ';Ok'; at the bottom of the box %26amp; you're good to go!!!!

    In my opinion ~ I would make sure you clean all of that out at least once every 2 weeks, it can slow your computer down. I hope I helped you enough!!!!
    drop down the favorites, a small bar will appear and history will be on it

    It might speed up Firefox itself, but it wont speed up your internet or computer.

    To speed up your computer, use defrag programs and clean your disk drive every once in a while. A good program to use is Auslogics Disc Defrag.

    Most computer errors are born in a part of your system which hardly anyone knows or understands - the registry. This is the central database of Windows, which actually stores some of your computer's most important files and settings. Everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper are kept in this database, making it one of the most used parts of the Windows system.Because it's used so much, the registry database is actually prone to becoming corrupt and damaged, which makes Windows struggle to read the files inside it. Unfortunately, 100's of registry files are corrupted every week and Windows has no way to protect against it - it's this problem which causes most of your computer's errors. The problem is that when these files are corrupted, your PC actually takes longer to read them and often can't read them at all.This causes errors on your PC which seem to appear randomly. You can use a Registry cleaner. http://computer-e-book-money.com Registry cleaners are tools which have been created to scan through the registry. They work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it's corrupt or causing problems. • How do I clear my acne fast, but doesn't cost a lot, and I don't have to order off the internet?

    I have really bad acne. I want it gone, I have money, but I don't want to spend it all. I am allergic to Clean and clear, but it worked good. I don't want to order off the internet becau usually cost a lot, and they come once a month, so you have to pay every month. I have tried Proactive. It worked, but it didn't work fast enough. Any ideas? I would prefer from Target.How do I clear my acne fast, but doesn't cost a lot, and I don't have to order off the internet?
    well the best stuff i have used that wasn't prescription was clean and clear. i`use continues control acne cleanser and it works pretty fast (like a day or two)How do I clear my acne fast, but doesn't cost a lot, and I don't have to order off the internet?
    There is a certain cream that comes in an orange tube. You can get it at Wal mart. My brother and I have both had horrible acne. It has something like acne terminator on it. You put it on just the spots where most acne acures and really dry spots. Hmm.. My mom had told a friend who she told about our acne and she had told us about crystals. I don't know much about it but I think you can get it at Wal-mart as well. You scrub it in for about 2 minutes with soap (or something else you use to wash your face with) and with the cream and crystals it has been working extremely fast for us both. I use to have about 15 pimples a day with new ones growing in. I would say that now, with puberty I still have blemishes here and there but using theses both have had and outstanding outcome within say.. about 3-4 weeks if not less. Above all though, I would say just traditional bar soap DAILY.
    I would suggest using the series from Exuviance. It has worked wonders for me.

    My skin is extremely sensitive, and Exuviance and Clarins are the only 2 series that really helps me.

    The reason why i recommend Exuviance, is because it is the cheapest of the 2.

    Try to check out www.exuviance.com

    It depends on what Internet Explorer you have. For the Internet Explorer I have at work, you right click on theicon, go to Properties, then click on each one of the following 1. Clear History 2. Delete Cookies 3. Delete Files. On my laptop at home, you right click on the icon, go to Properties, then there is a button that says Delete All, you click that it it delets EVERYTHING, even passwords that you may have asked to have saved on certain websites. If neither of those appear or work on yours, then I am at a loss.
    There are about five major areas that house your internet history. Also depending on your computer configuration. It may be copy your history more than once. This could be the reason you have been unsuccessful in deleting your internet history. If you are concerned about other area that your internet history is logged. check out this link

    Unable to clear internet search history?

    I can't clear my internet search history.

    In Internet Explorer I have gone to Internet Options, cleared the history, chosen 0 days to keep history. I've also gone to the General tab, to Auto Complete, and Clear Forms %26amp; Clear Passwords and the history is still not cleared. I've also tried deleting them from the drop-down menu to no avail.

    Any suggestions from anyone?? Could it have anything to do with having programs that don't allow cookies to be enabled?? This seems to have caused me problems in other areas with my computer...

    3. Within the ';Personal information'; area, select ';AutoComplete.';

    2. Select ';Options'; %26gt; ';Privacy'; %26gt; ';Saved Form Information.';

    3. Click ';Clear'; and un-check the box.

    4. Click ';OK'; to exit.

    Safari

    1. Go to the ';Safari'; menu and select ';Preferences.';

    2. From the menus that pop up, select ';Autofill.';

    3. Go to ';Other forms'; line and select the ';Edit'; button.

    4. From the list of sites for which AutoFill is currently being applied, select ';Google.com'; %26gt; ';Remove'; %26gt; ';Done.';

    If you'd like to completely disable your Toolbar's search history, please click the ';Options'; button on your Toolbar and un-check the box next to ';Drop-down search history.';

    Like your Google search box history, the search history that displays in the address bar on the Google homepage is stored by your browser, not by Google. double click on the search box and long press on the delete button on the keyboard
    Go to Tools --- Internet Options and you should find your Browsing History under the General tab. Click Delete.

    CCleaner is free by the way and does a good job. Just do a search for ';CCleaner';..
    You have to open your history toolbar - for IE6 click the buttom at the top that looks like a clock with a green arrown going counterclockwise. For IE7 you have to access history via your favorites toolbar.

    Find the day, or days that you went to this web site. Right click on those folders and select delete.

    Good luck. Update your question of you get stuck.
    I like the ccleaner answer however you can also clear your temp files.

    You can do this by opening My Computer, Go to your Folder Options and uncheck hide protected system files.

    Look under your profile on the computer(however your logged in) and you will see local settings%26gt;temp.
