Can employer see my web surfing even if I clear thru Internet >options?

Most likely yes. This is because when you connect to the internet from work, most places will have a device called a router. This allows them to have multiple computers on the same network. They are used to share files, printers, and to have all the computers share the same physical network connection. The router can store all of the websites that one has visited because all internet activity passes through the router and it will record your computers internal IP (a number that identifies which computer connected to that website). Can employer see my web surfing even if I clear thru Internet %26gt;options?
Oh cr@p! Gotta goCan employer see my web surfing even if I clear thru Internet %26gt;options?
yes, but usually they don't check unless they have reason to...like if you are not getting your work done
Probably. There are programs that your employer can run to gather info about what you are doing.

Good luck! :)
yes, some IT guys put a program on every computer in the system and can see every key stroke and mouse click you make and then just trace your steps to see where you go and what your account information is, so never access a personal account, e mail or anything else, at work.
Yes, it is very easy to keep track and maintain what you are viewing. Even if you clear the sites on your end, they are already recorded on their end.
Everyone above is mostly correct.

The most common way for your employer to know what you've been up to is by using a content filter, which categorizes sites based on content and domain name. With a glance, I can look over the main reports for today and see what the most popular sites were, and what sites count most against our list of 'dangerous' places to go to, complete with a user list and time of day and so on.

Best practice? Just don't surf at work, unless it's related to what you do... OR if you're an IT guy. :D
Yes, they will be monitoring all outbound traffic. They won't even need to log onto your PC to see what sites you have been going to.
sure can. every page you load is logged in a router, or a firewall to allow you access outside.

it can be traced right to your desktop, based on the unique serial number (MAC address) of the network adapter.

but again - no need for them to care unless there is a reason.
